well we all knew it would come to this. Two amazing pieces, very different and very worthy. My vote is obviously for Alive. It's a next level solo that the entire song builds towards, and falls apart without. The defining moment in one of their most defining songs. That it goes on for a full two minutes, and could just keep going, is a testament to what Mike accomplished here.

Immortality is great, and it captures the confused lonely weariness of that part of the song perfectly. But unlike the Alive solo, if you excised that solo from Immortality the song still works (diminished obviously, but still works). It enhances, but I don't know that it adds, in the same way that Alive does.

Alive is great, but I'm an Immortality guy.

In this category, this is a slam dunk for Alive.

I find myself going for Immortality

Not a huge solo fan, so haven't been voting in this, but listened to these two back to back and went with Immortality. Feels a bit more focused than the Alive solo, and is a little less "LOOK AT ME".
