Even though it's got more than a few novelty moments going for it, Their Satanic Majesties Request takes the cake in this conversation. What a weird moment in Stones history.

Ciccone Youth, however, is a fascinating and violent take on pop music in the late 80s. What was hinted at on Evol is fully realized on this release. Only Sonic Youth could make a beatbox sound so...damaged. At the very least, it's an interesting side step. Pretty Hate Machine wishes it could be this darkly tongue in cheek danceable.
