Very sad news, especially after his meltdowns lately. This one feels really weird, considering the connections to other recent deaths. Two dudes involved with singing for STP are now dead. There's also the memory of the time I saw him and Cornell on the same bill back in 2008 or so. Never liked Linkin Park, but that show was full of energy.

RIP :peace:

Damn! This is sad on so many levels... Leaving behind six kids, on cornell''s birthday, too. Here's a link to the open letter he wrote to CC after his suicide:

So sad :-(

wow nuts. i have no feelings towards Linkin Park, but that's sad. almost feels like a copycat sort of situation considering closeness with Cornell and that today was CC's b'day

I've been reading through that twitter feed for the last 10-15 minutes. So sad. Six kids without their father is heartbreaking. Doing it on CC's birthday definitely seems premeditated. I've never been a fan of LP, but gained a lot of respect for Chester when he was singing for STP. I saw him with them once and he did a great job.

Suicide sucks. Please stop killing yourselves, people!

What "meltdowns" are you referring to?

I don't know if this is exactly what he's referring to, but I remember something about Bennington lashing out against fans who didn't appreciate their newer, poppier music

I wasn't really a die-hard Linkin Park fan, but I absolutely respected the music that they made. Plus Hybrid Theory was one of those albums that was literally everywhere my sophomore and junior years of high school.

Also he apparently had admitting to thinking about committing suicide due to abuse he suffered as a child (this article from RS goes a little bit more into that: http://www.rollingstone.com/music/news/ ... 41-w493387).
Still better than Lightning Bolt, anyways.

Linkin Park wasn't for me but the song Tomorrow on the EP he did with STP was great.
