It’s been ten years since The Battle of the Breach and the oceans are still, but restless. Vindicated by the victory at the Breach, the Jaeger program has evolved into the most powerful global defense force in human history. The PPDC now calls upon the best and brightest to rise up and become the next generation of heroes.

Because these movies cost a lot of money and the giddy one didn't exactly light up the box office.

Ended up making nearly half a billion. Cost was $139M.

Box Office Mojo has it's budget at $190 million. Domestically it didn't come close to that; making just shy of $102 million. But internationally it raked in another $309 million. So, yeah, at $411 million total gross, the thing more than doubled it's production budget. Makes sense that they'd green light a sequel. Especially if they can trim that budget down from the first one.

Steve Albini wrote:Whenever there's active promotion on the part of somebody else, whenever I see somebody all dolled up for a fancy photograph and someone's handing out flyers or whenever there's active promotion for something like that, as an imposition on my day, I hate all those people and I want them to fail. I have a visceral reaction to advertising and promotion. There's just something about salesmanship that grates on me on a very base level and I react very negatively towards it. I want those people to suffer and I want their enterprises to fail.

Yeah, though a professional-looking Charlie Day is just weird.

I don't know if I'm seeing things but is it possible that some humans are working with the Kaiju? Because those are definitely missiles going into those buildings. The Jaeger v Jaeger fight in the middle is suspect as well.

The first one made a ton of money in Asia. This one looks confusing as hell though.
