Some folks didn't want to be burdened with a bunch of f**kin' rules, man.

There are only 12 tracks on In Utero so someone won't get an In Utero track; the rules stipulate that everyone must choose one track per studio album. Kurt would be super pissed.

Wait, what? 12 teams. Erryone gets In Utero.

I thought this too for a very long time but realised in recent years that I was mistaken.

In Utero is great but Nevermind is just incredible (and represented a gigantic creative leap forward for the band).

I'm not saying I dislike Nevermind I just listen to In Utero way more.

I listen to In Utero and Incesticide and Unplugged more than Nevermind.

By picking Milk It and Dumb (Unplugged), DeLima has got two in Utero songs meaning someone will miss out (no offence DL). Is this what you had in mind when designing the rules?

Ahhhhh! I see what you're getting at. And I didn't design the rules. That was d_v.

JUDGES?!

Put me on team Nevermind. In Utero sounds amazing and was an incredibly bold and authentic way to follow up all their success, I just think Nevermind has more 5-star songs and has had a bigger impact on me.

Looks like I spoke way too soon.

I really thought it was fairly universally agreed upon that In Utero was way better.

Learn something new all the time.

Also, I think DeLima's second pick should be voided. The one song per album AND ONLY ONE SONG rule + the everyone needs a song per album rule trumps the any version rule.

I'll let d_v make the final call, of course. But my feeling is that he should probably take a different song. Though, to be fair, no one else grabbed Dumb before him. So if he wants to drop Milk It and make Dumb is official In Utero pick, I'm okay with that. :peace:

Should Unplugged selections be restricted to songs not otherwise on studio albums in that case (the cover songs, in other words) or should those simply form part of the "wildcard" category? I think the latter is probably simpler but it's d_v's call.

DV's call but the easiest workaround at this point might be to say that everyone gets one and only one song from a studio album. If you want to go with an alternate (live, demo, whatevs) version of Dumb, fine, but that's still considered your "In Utero" pick.

Delima should cancel one of his two picks and choose something that's not on In Utero. Sorry, D!

Hey, sorry for the delay, yeah, one song from each studio. So if you happen to choose a live version of that song from that album, fine, but that is your album pick. We have 12 players and to ensure we all get a studio pick, you cannot choose a live version of a song on a studio album, then a studio take of a differnt song from that studio album.

In other words, don't choose a live In Utero song, then an In Utero studio take. Same song, different song, whatever, you can't have two songs from one studio album.

Does that cover it? So, yeah, DeLima, you need to either pick another song, or say "Dumb" from Unplugged is your 'In Utero' pick.

---------

For my pick, I'm going with "Francis Farmer Will Haver Her Revenge On Seattle".
