Obviously, I disagree with many of your specifics here. But I'm glad you're enjoying the show enough to stick with it.VinylGuy wrote:just finished season one. I dont if it was because im in a foreign country working or what, but i enjoyed it. Its not brilliant at all, most of the characters are cliches of what a girl in their age do and think.
I dont think the scripts are amazing at all, they are just good, and overall that makes a nice little show. Other thing that strikes me as odd is that i kinda hate every character...Hanna is pretty boring, Adam is a douche, Marney...we kinda dont know much about her...That blonde girl is so, so stupid..
But hell yeah, i enjoyed first season and ill watch the second one.
i see.durdencommatyler wrote:They've renewed for a 3rd season. So far that's all I've heard.
I don't she's cliche, no.VinylGuy wrote:i see.durdencommatyler wrote:They've renewed for a 3rd season. So far that's all I've heard.
Do you really like Jessa? isnt it a cliche after a cliche all the time? even that bullshit moment of her boss wanting to take care of her was soemthing Lenna didnt take avantage for that character.

Some of the situations she finds herself in are common (in life and in fiction). But I think the way she handles those situations is interesting. Maybe not entirely unique; not something we've "never seen before!" But she's really well played, I think.
There's a tremendous subtlety to Jessa and a lot of depth in her relationship to Hannah. Her scenes are always interesting and entertaining, even when they're difficult and frustrating.
I've known people like both of them in my life. Both felt equally real to me. Jessa is a mess, but I like her spirit.VinylGuy wrote:durdencommatyler wrote:I don't she's cliche, no.VinylGuy wrote:i see.durdencommatyler wrote:They've renewed for a 3rd season. So far that's all I've heard.

Maybe not. If you're not a big fan now, I doubt that'll change in any significant way. But we'll have to see what happens.VinylGuy wrote:i know, i know...durdencommatyler wrote:Well, it wouldn't be a very good show if thing didn't change, no would it?VinylGuy wrote:mmmm im guessing something changes?? so far i loved how he got mad at hanna at the end of the season.durdencommatyler wrote:I've known people like both of them in my life. But, yes, I think she's a remarkable writer. I'm beyond impressed.

I don't really get that -- at least not form her writing. I haven't see/read many interviews with her. Maybe she's that way in real life. But I wouldn't say that I get that impression from her writing.
