4MG of Lorazepam is nuuuuuuuts. I take .5mg as needed for anxiety/panic.
Narcan?? That's what they give for opioid overdoses. Did someone give him this trying to revive him thinking he was hopped up on painkillers?
And butalbitol IS a barbiturate. It's stupid to report he had that and barbiturates in his system. It's like saying he had Lorazepam and benzodiazepines in his system. The butalbitol is a bit odd, tho. I've never seen it in a form by itself (not saying it doesn't happen, just that I've never seen it) as it's usually combined with other meds like an NSAID or aspirin and even caffeine for migraines.
Yeah the EMTs gave the narcan, and thats what the "track marks" TMZ were on about came from. Presumably they knew he had a past problem with opioids.

Probably, but it still seems well within the realm of possibility.

I'm of the mindset that he may not have done this if his mind wasn't so entirely altered by the drug cocktail he was on. He may have known exactly what he was doing when he put the cord around his neck, but it seems reasonable to at least question if he'd made the same decision sober. Maybe he totally would have, and maybe it was directly a result of the drugs. We'll never know. But I think it is a perfectly reasonable question.

Like I said, we'll never know. And I agree it was suicide either way. But it's still entirely possible (even likely) his drug cocktail significantly contributed to his decision making.

The problem is that chalking it up to an accident is kind of demeaning to the guy who actively committed suicide. Let's give Chris some credit. He stayed true to his lyrics at the very least.

Yeah I hate to get morbid here but suicide by hanging (and suicide by hanging in a hotel bathroom with an exercise band) is something, on some level, you are desperate to do. Of course his judgment was clouded and there could have been the side effect of suicidal ideation, but, granting all that, it sure seems like he wanted to go out. Lots of people mix prescription drugs and don't end up hanging themselves. Look at Tiger Woods, for one.
Also, we'll never know if he said something else to her in that last phone call that she didn't report. It could absolutely have been as she said: "I'm just tired." And then immediately to the bathroom to kill himself. Or... who the fuck knows what else could've been said. Maybe I'm a conspiracy theorist but it seems really fucking weird that she says he had no signs of depression and then one night after a show he magically starts slurring his words out of nowhere and she immediately calls in the bodyguard. I'm no Columbo but...
I've found some other things in the nooks and cranny's of the internet that, if true, lead me to believe he was thinking of several different depressing situations leading up to the end.
Regardless of all this amateur Veronica Mars sleuthing, this just fucking sucks. I absolutely hate that his kids don't have a dad and that it's forever going to be one of the first things I think about every time a Soundgarden or solo track comes on.
