"We have learned from this report that several substances were found in his system. After so many years of sobriety, this moment of terrible judgment seems to have completely impaired and altered his state of mind," Vicky Cornell wrote.
So he had been sober up until that "moment of terrible judgment"? That night was the first time he ingested a bevy of prescription drugs? One of which the bodyguard was tasked with doling out? There's a shitload more to this story. Don't know we'll ever find out.

Of course his judgment was clouded and there could have been the side effect of suicidal ideation, but, granting all that, it sure seems like he wanted to go out. Lots of people mix prescription drugs and don't end up hanging themselves. Look at Tiger Woods, for one.
Also, we'll never know if he said something else to her in that last phone call that she didn't report. It could absolutely have been as she said: "I'm just tired." And then immediately to the bathroom to kill himself. Or... who the fuck knows what else could've been said. Maybe I'm a conspiracy theorist but it seems really fucking weird that she says he had no signs of depression and then one night after a show he magically starts slurring his words out of nowhere and she immediately calls in the bodyguard. I'm no Columbo but...
I've found some other things in the nooks and cranny's of the internet that, if true, lead me to believe he was thinking of several different depressing situations leading up to the end.
Regardless of all this amateur Veronica Mars sleuthing, this just fucking sucks. I absolutely hate that his kids don't have a dad and that it's forever going to be one of the first things I think about every time a Soundgarden or solo track comes on.
There are certainly things that don't make sense. I've been curious about the timeline, and how events exactly went down. I'm sure during such a horrific tragedy, things get lost in thought, or you don't remember things EXACTLY as they went down... or maybe there are just some things you don't want out there for public consumption.. But I doubt this was the first time he had fallen off the wagon recently. The body guard giving him two pills has been mentioned quite casually.
I've often wondered if he sent her an email. He had the bodyguard "fix" his computer, I wonder if he sent something, which is what started her worrying, before or after the "I'm just tired" hang up.
As stated though...I just feel for the kids... As a fan, I want answers, I couldn't even start to imagine what's going on in those kid's brains...

Thanks, that's much less sensationalized.

I'm sure a lot of those people don't suffer from severe depression and anxiety, either. I have a friend who had a severe panic/anxiety attack that was caused simply by the fact that this person had done a lot of drinking that night. So it very well could have influenced his decision making in some way. But I do agree that just simply drugs alone would be the cause. Something had to be deep rooted in his mind, as well. But we'll most likely never know what that was.
But as others have said, I feel horrible for his children more than anything right now. And I hope that they'll get whatever support they'll need to deal with this.

How do we know he hasn't yet?
Well, other than the fact Brad Pitt is trying to be their dad now.

Alright, I honestly don't even remember at this point how I found this, cuz it was a link to a link of a link. But this is part of a loooooong back and forth on a message board (hello!) from
2004 (hello!!) It appears the writing was on the wall from the very beginning. Even if you only believe half of it, combine it with recent events, fill in the gaps, read between the lines, you get the picture.
Anyway, here is the link:

If you want to fast-forward to where things get a little more pertinent, scroll down to the ALL CAPS post maybe 20% down the page in a post by "MORGAN" who seems to have known a lot

reading 2004 internet is like opening up a newspaper from the 1800s and seeing pharmacy ads for cocaine like it was normal
funny how everyone apologizes for duplicate posting so much... but not all the other stuff...

by the end sucks
There was an article with Chris on April 17 2017 where he talks about having 'daymares' after watching genocide images/footage when preparing the song for the film THE PROMISE. Does it mean anything? I can't really say yes or no. I read that article when it was published and I thought his reaction seemed a bit odd.
http://www.billboard.com/articles/news/ ... rden-album
At this stage the most likely scenarios seem to be that
1) drug combination made him do it, or contributed to it.
2) something extremely nasty happened in that final phone call - could be anything (Vicky could have said she wanted a divorce, she was going to take his kids from him, was going to sue him, reveal nasty secrets, take all his money etc .etc.. There's no shortage of terrible things you can think of that
could have been said between them).
3) I read a comment where Vicky said that Chris claimed in the phone call that the audio technicians at Soundgarden's concert fucked up his earpiece and he couldn't hear properly and 'blew his voice'. If you're a professional singer you would naturally be very alarmed if something significant happened to your voice. Vicky claimed this happened in the phone call, so she could be making it up, but it would explain why Chris was apparently off with his timing in the final concert.
4) what the coroner said it was. If so, the actual reasons behind Chris choosing that will likely remain unknown,
unless he had a therapist and discussed what was bothering him... but even if he did have a therapist the therapist probably wouldn't be allowed to reveal what they'd talked about.
5) a combination of the above.
The police really should be checking Chris's phone calls over his last month, and his internet usage over the last month. Checking those things could reveal some answers.

There are crimes happening all the time in Detroit. Chris killed himself and it wasn't suspicious. Maybe the manpower belongs elsewhere?

It's possible his wife isn't Satan, and she's in denial about how depressed he was or that he might have been abusing the ativan, or he hid it well. Hence all her comments, maybe she'd like to believe that only the impairment from the ativan caused him take his own life, maybe she finds it easier to tell her kids that.
There's pages and pages here of people trying to figure out why he did it and and what happened beyond 'he was depressed so he killed himself' it's not so unbelievable that she's doing the same, rather than trying to hide something.
And as for the timeline "not adding up" for all we know he had his neck in the noose when they were on the phone, and the bodyguard was probably in charge of the pills because they're addictive and he didn't trust himself with them. And it's not strange to me to hear someone you know very well talking strangely on the phone and ask someone to go check on them, if only to confirm that you're over reacting.

All reasonable and hopefully true. Where ya been stupidmop? Don't you know we don't do reasonable here?
I'm just saying that if you believe some of the informed conjecture put forth about her, you could also reasonably question what was really going on behind the scenes.
Like I said it all sucks either way. He's gone.
