He's like a Trump supporter who can't understand why his guy lost after so many people showed up to the rally.

As I said earlier, there are about 30 people on the planet for whom this is an acceptable result, and 25 of them post here.

Songs like SOLAT and Alone, while still great, just don't resonate with me like they did when I was 19 years old. I still love to RAWK, but I think I need something weirder, maybe more texturally interesting, something not so sure of itself, something that has more layers of maturity, something not so melodramatic, something that asks questions and wants to figure a way forward, rather than something that's just screaming about a problem, something that is more concerned with dealing with emotions rather than expressing them in a huge outburst. Maybe.

SOLAT never hit me like the rest of Ten, or Yellow Ledbetter, or Wash... I like the song. It’s cool. But if that was “the PJ song” from that era, they wouldn’t have instantly become my favorite band. It’s at the bottom of a pile of GREATNESS. Still cool, but not quite like the rest.

cropduster over RVM is the biggest WTF here. this is just nonsense. the opening riff to cropduster sucks. there's nothing about EV that stands out except he's the person singing. the solo is boring. dumbass time signature. this has "piss break song" written all over it in concert.

the opening riff in RVM alone is better than the entirety of cropduster. it's so propelling its hard not to have a physical reaction to it. the way the song builds around the riff, goes into that weird bridge, and then EXPLODES leads to one of the most intense pearl jam songs ever. it's been a live highlight since 1993. \

you're better than this RM

Agreed. It’s group think. I like Cropduster more than I used to, but it doesn’t topple what is in essence their quintessential great song.

I drove down to 0regon with my dad and a bunch of his friends in the early 2000s for a football game. We’re all out to dinner at a steakhouse and my lasting memory of the trip is that I was just playing Cropduster in my head on a loop during dinner. Can’t explain it. I have an irrational love for the song.

On the other hand, some very well respected deep cuts on this board are songs that just never really clicked for me. Rival and Habit come to mind. Can’t explain it.

"suck" is probably too strong, but compared to pearl jam riff's, its completely forgettable. i would probably have time to take a piss and get another beer lol.
