I didn’t know that about Stipe. love that song. I’m pretty sure it’s top 10 for me. So are others from HiFi. I think it’s pretty clearly their best album.

Yeah, my feeling is that you only feel that way, Rangi, because it's universally loved. Undertow is kind of a given. People don't talk about it as much because it speaks for itself.

Im listening to Monster right now. Its been ages since i last put it. So weird they came from the poppy side of their previous work and then bum, they have this psychedelic tour de force. The guitars are so fucking good.

I've got Accelerate playing at the moment. First time listening in quite some time. Strangely this isn't quite a strong as I remember it being

Yeah, it happened the same to me.
I love the album, and at the time it seemed it was super good. Now, i guess the first 4 or 5 tracks are super strong and great and then it kinda drags a little. It picks up again with Horse To Water, and i love Im Gonna DJ, but the middle songs are alright.

Next in the REM revisionist marathon: Up.

Damn, Lotus is good.

I really like Up. I remember not caring much because of Berry´s departure and i felt it was lacking of up tempo songs, which is true, but the strong songs are up there with their best material. Its a pretty focused album and Stipe sounds awesome.

Both Daysleeper and Lotus are personal favorites along with Airportman and Hope right close them but the main song here is At My Most Beautiful. Thats such an amazing one...sounds like something they wrote for Automatic For The People. The string section is so fucking beautiful.

Walk Unafraid and Falls to Climb, though.

yeah it is. Its a very good album.

i love up (and am probably one of a handful that loves airportman), but I think it's 2 songs too long. i would've cut diminished and parakeet.

Aiportman is great.
Yeah, it might be a little long, maybe too down tempo? Im not sure.

"Airportman" is a great opening statement, if not a great song.
