Pete/Joey, would you believe me if I said that I just connected the dots between "tapping on your glass" and that Joey story, and that I only enjoyed the expression so much because it had a folksy feel to it? Like an old bearded man stretching his cane across the table to playfully tap a kiddo's glass of water gently a few times so as to risk toppling it over?
