I have no idea why Metallica is playing their own songs? And did he really say of Soundgarden, "I think we liked the very very first album. The first couple were extra good. Nothing bad about the others you know...just sayin'." From Hetfield's opening line of "we had some interactions with Chris out on the road," I'm kinda wondering who invited these guys.

That's hilarious if true. They did all their own songs at the Freddie Mercury one too I think.

Looks like they covered two of my favourite early Soundargen songs (All Your Lies, Head Injury).
According to a setlist I saw online, one of the songs Melvins played was Malfunkshun's With Yo Heart Not Yo Hands (Andy Wood's pre-MLB band), which they've covered previously.

I just watched a clip of Say Hello 2 Heaven. That was absolutely one of the best audience recordings I’ve ever heard. Miley did ok. It was in a pretty low register for her , but I didn’t hear any flubbed notes. Pretty good job.
No Attention by Foo Fighters was awesome. They fucking kicked it. It sounded nowhere near as good as the Miley song, tho.

Stone seemed to be the MVP of the night. Nice to see him doing this. it really weird PJ didnt play though. I guess Ed really has a problem with Vicky Cornell or something because not showing up to this....its a very cool tribute.

That'll teach him for not letting Brandie sing on her own song in Seattle last year.

I really don't like celebrity gossip at all, but there's enough smoke here to suggest Ed and Vicky Cornell are not exactly friends.

Ed was not there, we will never know why. The whole Cornell family was also absent apparently. His parents and siblings did not show up. Maybe they have issues with Vicky aswell. Or it was just too emotional for the family and/or Ed, who knows...
