True. I haven't seen this much controversy in an OB tastemakers thread since we couldn't decide if Bon Iver's For Emma, Forever Ago belonged in our best of '07 or best of '08 list.

This is right on, though I'd argue strongly the first definition here (bands like TAD, Mudhoney, Green River, early Soundgarden, etc.) is the only meaningful definition of "grunge" - no Pearl Jam, no Smashing Pumpkins, etc.
