Lilly Cornell was there. She seems to be in good spirits with Vicky. Cornell parents are a different story. I think Chris never spoke to his dad again.

I went last night.

Ed not being there was a disappointment. (Mike, too.) Even if there's something between him and Vicki ... would have been nice to see him put it aside for a night to be there with Stone and Matt and so many other people to pay tribute to Chris to sing a song or two.

But that's really the only complaint, besides the show being disjointed and slow. Which is to be expected for a one off with so many different acts coming and going.

Adam Levine and Stone doing Seasons was a real highlight. And, for me, I thought the other big highlight of the night was Audioslave. I really enjoy those records but that's not what I think of first hen I think of Cornell and it wasn't; what I was looking forward to most (I wasn't even really aware Morello would be there), but they brought more energy than really any other act, save maybe Soundgarden, and the guest vocalists (except Juliette Lewis, sorry) were incredible. Perry Farrell was awesome, the two guys on Set It Off were clearly living a dream, then Brandi Carlisle and Growl just went for it with every breath on their songs. It was fantastic.

The TOTD set was a little off and strange. That part of the night felt really disjointed. So many people going and going on stage. Different drummers, different people filling in for McCready, and obviously different vocalists. Stone was really the only guy holding it down in that section. I have to say, Miley was amazing on Say Hello 2 Heaven. Her solo song earlier in the nigh was odd, probably the least crowd reaction she's had in her career in 10 years, but she owned it for this performance.

I hadn't seen Soundgarden live since 1996 (Mammoth Events Center in Denver) and it was amazing just to hear the noise those guys make and the vocalists they chose were really cool.

Show ended after midnight, having started around 7:30, so even if you didn't;t love every act, you got your money's worth. Hell of a night.

Thanks for the review, yeah seems like a very emotional and great night. Yeah, i agree with Ed had to be there. For Stone, Mike, Matt..even for the guys in Soundgarden. If Jerry and Will are there, and they are very close and still work with Susan Silver, for him not be there for his beef with Vicky Cornell seems very strange.

Anyway, we dont know shit about it really.

this has been talked about before but if you read around certain corners of the internet, let's just say there's some shady shit going on with vicky cornell and co. i think it's clear by this point that ed has got a problem with her and her family (and it seems for good reason).
