Andrew Garfield is probably the only reason I'll see Hacksaw Ridge.

The facebook news feed led me to looking back into Val Kilmer. I started perusing a couple articles and his facebook. Pretty hilarious. He is quite active on facebook and appears to reply to everyones comments. He also looks like he got back in shape and is looking quite healthy.

He's had some incredible roles.

Yea, I think this could be really great. Also excited for Trainspotting 2. There's a teaser that rolled out this morning -- no real footage or anything, but I'm psyched.
there is a full trailer.

Ah, just saw it. For some reason the article I saw didn't actually have the trailer embedded. But yea, that looks great (at least it does if you loved the first movie).
When I heard they were making a sequel, I was .... cautiously optimistic. Then I heard it was called T2 and that Boyle actually got James Cameron's blessing/permission to call it T2. And I was completely OUT.

Then I watched that trailer just now and...

I. Can. Not. WAIT!

Looks fucking outstanding. :bammer:

I read somewhere that this wasn't going to follow the book at all. It was a totally different story. But now I can't find where I read that so it may not be true. Maybe it was just speculation based on things Boyle said being spliced together?

tragabigzanda wrote:Cool. I've never read any Irvine Welsh, but wiki tells me that the Porno book (sequel to Trainspotting) is set 10 years after the original story, and covers the characters coming together in the world of porn. So I'd say this movie is its own thing completely.
:nice:

Good. I'm glad I'm not completely crazy.

Though, there are flashes in that trailer that could show us a porn subplot for sure. So maybe there are elements from the book in the movie.

"One of the greatest film franchises of all time." In regards to Indiana Jones? Really? One is great. One is fun. One is fart noise. And one is  . At absolute BEST you're batting 500. 2 out of 4? That's "one of the greatest film franchises of all time?"

I don't get the internet.

People love to conflate "greatest" with "most profitable."
And Last Crusade is NOT fart noise.
Good point. And, yeah, Last Crusade is great!
