These guys are playing less than 3 miles from my house on Tuesday in a club with less than 300 capacity. So pumped for this show - these guys have become my favorite band besides pj over the last 5-10 years.

I'm starting to get really excited to see them live in a couple weeks. I've just now started to pay attention to the lyrics on There Is No Enemy and I love BtS more than ever.

Saw them last week, of the three shows Ive seen of theirs this was probably the best. I'm not crazy about covers but they had a great clash cover and a velvet underground/lou reed cover that was f'ing incredible. The shaggy looking guitar player sang on the Lou Reed song, it had about 20 minutes worth of drone-type jamming on it. Liar and Wherever you go were some other highlights.

These guys play here in 2 weeks. Based on their recent setlists which albums should I focus on?

I haven't gotten really into these guys but I've listened to both Perfect from Now On & Keep It Like a Secret enough times each to know the songs.

They seem to be mixing it up pretty well this tour. You should probably give their last two albums a spin - You in Reverse and There is No Enemy. Both great albums, but not hugely different. The one thing I would really suggest is to listen to the album There's Nothing Wrong With Love, because that one is older and somewhat different (90s pop rock), and they seem to be playing some from it.

Also, I think setlist.fm has an "average setlist" feature, so you can do that and youtube the songs.

I'll be seeing these guys in 6 or 7 hours! So pumped.

Just posted in the "Concerts you've been to recently" thread but I'll repost it here and elaborate a bit.
I saw Built to Spill at Stubb's in Austin this weekend and damn if that wasn't the best concert I've been to at that venue and best show I've been to in a while. The sound was absolutely perfect (it felt like my whole body was being wrapped in crisp, delightful sound) and the cold weather added to the atmosphere in the most positive way. Built to Spill gave a stellar energized performance!

There wasn't a dull moment but the highlights for me were
-Planting Seeds (the lyrics are an existential tour de force and hearing one of my favorite songs live was really special)
-Liar (Doug Martsch sang this absolutely perfectly and it brought the song to new heights)
-A new song
-Cover of The Smiths' How Soon Is Now? (it's a knockout song to begin with and the effect and atmosphere BtS created live with the guitar work and drums was out of this world.)

One major surprise was the opening band Genders. They really floored me! Their first album comes out in December but they do have a single out. http://genderspdx.bandcamp.com/ They were selling their album early on tour and it's already in my top 5 albums of the year. They sound like they've been a successful band for years but on their website they posted about their efforts to purchase a van for this tour. And one of the members at the merch booth said they hoped to release their album on vinyl but they don't have the funds for it.

I totally agree on genders. I was very impressed. The other opening band that played Fla. with them was pretty good as well.... Slam Dunk.

My buddy and I are starting a death metal Built To Spill cover band called Built To Kill

really enjoyed the show last night in baltimore. The band was very tight and the sound was awesome. good mix of songs, i think played at least one song from every record (not sure about their first record though).

These guys are playing a barn in Iowa on my birthday. Needless to say I bought tickets. Last year's show at the same venue was too cold to camp.

I'm all about these guys these days.

Untethered Moon might have been my #1 album last year. If not, it's in the top 2 or 3.

It's definetely in my top 5 of 2015, and it's actually one of my least favorites from them.
