Just too much hype on this one for them to live up to at this point.
Agreed. I just don't understand why everyone does this every show. Missoula is a perfect example. Baseball stadiums are notorious for bad sound and sight lines. I am glad I have 10c seats. Dealing with the "wrigley folks" would ruin any show.

Apparently Mike will be on PJ radio tonight to talk about this 'iconic' show (their words). Should be interesting as Mike is probably the most fun guy in the band to listen to.

Pearl Jam guitarist Stone Gossard discussed the band’s upcoming show at Wrigley Field in the latest issue of Illinois Entertainer:
“The Chicago show is coming and we are already beginning to think about it. We really want to make it a special experience. Ed’s been putting a lot of thought into it and I think it’s going to be a great night. It’s a dream of his to play Wrigley Field and we’re excited about following him in there. He’s had this in his head for awhile. It’s taken us some time to figure out how to do it, but we’re real excited.”
Hmmm.... maybe this show will surprise us in a good way.

I still think that they should open with Yellow Ledbetter with Mike finishing it with the Star Spangled Banner.

Either they'll wanna make it a special musical performance worthy of a Live at Wrigley DVD or somesuch, or they'll spectrum it and it'll be a big party.

Stone has always seemed more real in interviews, so if he says it's gonna be good, then maybe my early sarcasm was misplaced.
Songs:
36 played
31.5 on the boot due to technical difficulties
First: Release
Last: YL
Surprise song: Brother

Yeah. I wouldn't care if they were coming from someone else, but hearing them come from Stone is making me feel significantly more excited about this show.

yeah, he did sound very exited about them playing Wrigley. I think they have been trying to play there since 2006.

All I hope for, is that Eddies dream of playing Wrigley, doesnt lead him to a few too many bottles of wine before the show even gets rolling lol
other than that? Im thinking this will be Eds perfect set, so it will be really interesting as to what he comes up with.
I could honestly see Release being an encore song instead of the opener.

They'll probably play whatever acoustic ballad is the second single as well. They'll put a video of it up on the site, interspersed with behind the scenes footage of the crew setting up and Ed playing on the empty field with his kids.
