I was meant to get stuck into Red Dead Redemption this weekend, but we just returned from a shopping trip to find the flat flooded from a washing machine foul up. So now my weekend is going to consist of drying, cleaning and sorting. I'm just going to play some western music and pretend I'm doing the grindy bits of the game.

That's the last time I ever get him to take care of my ocelot while I'm away.

Backlog
I've gotten some stuff on Steam and GOG for low prices that I would like to play at some time, but haven't gotten to yet, or I'm not sure if my PC has the capabilities to handle the game.

Little Nightmares and Soma both fall into the category of I don't know if my computer can run this thing. I picked up Hyper Light Drifter because I want to play it, but haven't had to time to sit down and give it a go.

I also purchased a Humble Bundle a couple months ago that was a bunch of Sonic games for something like $7.50. I don't know if I'll get around to trying all of them out, since I don't have any particularly strong interest in modern Sonic, but there were a few I wanted to try, and some of the money went to charity. Again, just haven't had time.

Graveyard
Dropsy - I saw some of this get played on YouTube, and it seemed to be pretty fun and charming. For a while it was, but then I encountered a bug which causes a certain character to never spawn, thus making that puzzle impassible and continuing the have impossible. It was eventually patched to fix the bug, but in the meantime I lost interest and the game sits unfinished.

Oddworld: Abe's Oddysee - I had wanted to play this game since I was young when it first came out, but never got the chance. Got it in a sale on GOG, and had some fun with it, but it got pretty frustrating having to be pixel perfect on some of the screens and the repetitive nature of the rest of it. I knew the basic premise, but I guess I just didn't realize that there's so little that changes when you attempt each puzzle. I thought the world was supposed to feel more alive and realistic, but no dice.

Why did Mordor make you anxious?

I actually went back and played this through after being terrible at it as a kid. It was still really hard. I feel like they don't really make games like this anymore.

I hated the idea of the world moving forward when I died and enemies getting stronger after they killed me, things like that. Basically the whole dying mechanic. I usually like to play games at a pretty deliberate pace and it just made me feel like I was struggling and falling behind, if that makes sense. It sucked because I liked a lot of aspects of that game, but it just wasn't fun for me.

I’m playing Mordor right now through Game Pass and I’ve got a similar feeling. Gonna keep powering through but I got my ass kicked early and a few of the nemesis people powered up big time.
