I'd go full Fred Flinstone on their arse.
When you say be supportive can you think of something specific you would say? Just curious what you would view as supportive verbage.tree_ wrote:Just be supportive. Maybe they are testing the boundaries of their imaginations.verb_to_trust wrote:Sure, but those types of scenarios are going to require professional guidence. that may well be the case, wease.wease wrote:Unfortunately dad, this isn’t the case. It’s more of verb’s douchebaggery spilling over from the transgender thread in which he equates transgender people to those who say they are cats.
It all comes down to love my friend. If you’re loving and supportive chances are they’re not going to treat you like an asshole. Ask in what way you can help their cat lifestyle and if it’s reasonable go along with itverb_to_trust wrote:When you say be supportive can you think of something specific you would say? i think, and i'm sure a lot of us here think, that his trolling is ridiculous and unnecessary. it is. however, behind that troll is someone who's likely insecure about a lot of things.
and someone who genuinely misses their pet, and that bit of vulnerability is coming through here...even in an attempt at trolling.
If you do this and they are not truly identifying as a domestic short hair, then your kid just lost all respect for you though.tree_ wrote:It all comes down to love my friend. I donated all my cat stuff. It hurt to have it around. I have her ashes, a painting of her a photo book and a small beaver toy she liked best. That's it.spike wrote:Are you suggesting verb has been using a litter box?dad wrote:that may well be the case, wease.wease wrote:Unfortunately dad, this isn’t the case. No because your goal isn’t to figure out what is true but to love and support them no matter what within reason. And if they’re lying to you then that is on them and they will regret itverb_to_trust wrote:If you do this and they are not truly identifying as a domestic short hair, then your kid just lost all respect for you though.tree_ wrote:It all comes down to love my friend. If your kid thinks they are a cat for real you need to figure that out because they are likely mentally ill.tree_ wrote:No because your goal isn’t to figure out what is true but to love and support them no matter what within reason. It depends on how it is acted out. It’s possible to think you’re a cat in someway and still live a high functioning productive lifeverb_to_trust wrote:If your kid thinks they are a cat for real you need to figure that out because they are likely mentally ill.tree_ wrote:No because your goal isn’t to figure out what is true but to love and support them no matter what within reason. I know there are people who have gotten surgery to look like a cat. I would not hire that person.tree_ wrote:It depends on how it is acted out.
