Listen to you goobers with your "emotional engagement" with rock musicians, sheesh!
I regret missing Cornell's solo show here whenever that was.

Anyone who thinks they sound like Eddie Vedder is probably a huge asshole.

Cornell's career is a scattered mess of music that shakes me to my core and music that irritates the hell out of me, but good grief has this guy written a ton of the former.
Call Me a Dog
Reach Down
Say Hello 2 Heaven
Seasons
Fell on Black Days
Tighter and Tighter
Zero Chance
Overfloater
Sunshower
Preaching the End of the World
When I'm Down
Wave Goodbye
Getaway Car
Clearly I favor the man's more melodic side but what a mix that would be. I think I'm going to make it. Sometime.

Seasons, Overfloater and Zero Chance are such great vocal takes.

Page 1 of the SG thread I point out the glaring omission of "Zero Chance" and "Like Suicide" from Zebediah's top 10.

I had said this on the old board, but while Cornell is extremely impressive, it feels like it is utilized much more for the sake of having a range than any emotional reason, or as excessively histrionic (no a lot of subtlety at that end). Which is a shame because his lower register is usually pretty affecting

And because I haven' pissed off Soma yet today
Badmotorfinger - 7
Superunknown - 9
DOTU - 7 - (probably like it more than Badmotorfinger, though
King Animal - 7 (might actually feel like a more consistent listen than DOTU or BMF, but doesn't have the highs)
Euphoria Morning - 8 This is very good
Carry On - 3 was only able to get through this once. You Know My Name is excellent though
Scream - I've never heard it.
Temple of the Dog - 8
Audioslave - 5
Out of Exile - 6
Revelations - 4 Man, audioslave was disappointing

Meh. If you want to put
Out of Exile on the same level as
Down on the Upside, that's your own goofy ass cross to bare.
