What's remarkable about the series is that the 1st transformers was already kinda shitty and yet each subsequent film manages to be even worse

There's supposed to be. If anything that's this franchise's Major Flaw.
I expect Stip will start a series of threads about it shortly.

Also, John Goodman does not make a good voice for a robot, even if the robot appears to be an overweight ex army sergeant.

Instead, why wouldn't you send the poor guy see a good movie for once?

The day McP sees a movie -- any movie -- and thinks it's good, is the day that I'll... wait. Nope, not falling for it again.
Nice try, Heathen.

Cutting all 4 Transformers movies down to 100 minutes would improve them all DRASTICALLY! The main reason they suck so much is that their jammed packed with boring, confusing, and outright stupid plot gimmicks. If you trim all that shit you get fun action movies full of robots kicking the shit out of robots. Sure, it would still suck that they don't look like the cartoon/toy versions, but that would be forgivable when i haven't drolled into an empty popcorn bucket for the last 1.5 of the movie.

at some point during everyone of these movies, I've had the thought,
"when did the humans in this become super humans?"
does Michael Bay really think people can just be hurled around upon / within / around / on top of / under giant robots and buildings, and, somehow a human holding an alien weapon, could withstand the blow / block the blow, a giant metal robot 5 times his size strikes upon him? I mean, it is Mark Wahlberg at least in this movie and not douchebag, but still.
and these movies just keep making millions so he'll keep making more

The thing that pissed me off the most is that the storyline of
- Spoiler: show
- the bounty hunter that was hunting optimus for his creators
seemed like it would be a really cool story. But they completely abandoned that for a very stupid storyline.

I agree whole heartedly with the last couple of posters: there's a really intriguing storyline and a cool sci-fi flick in here
somewhere, but the series needs someone besides Michael Bay and new writers to come up with anything worth watching more than once. I had seen all three of the first movies in the theater, so we figured we'd see this one again to keep the streak going. As others have mentioned...
- Spoiler: show
- Bringing in a different antagonist is a great idea; just having another evil Decepticon run wild would be dumb. I was "happy," in general, with both the idea of man-made robots and the robot bounty hunter, but I think they coulda been separate movies. And Megatron's "hack" could've been a third...it really seems like this was an entire trilogy squished into one, maybe Bay using up all his ideas before he hit the road?
And finally, after three movies, they try to make something out of all the destruction of the first three films, i.e., they finally start to mention body counts and attempt to portray grieving characters who have lost something along the way. But they really only "use it" with that one throwaway line from The Man In Black and that one propaganda billboard. Wouldn't it have been better if the whole world had gone 1984-ish and dystopic after the robots tore shit up, instead of just one rogue government agency that's basically only bending the rules and not breaking them? I'm not convinced that if the first three movies had happened, the rest of the world woulda kept spinning with no repercussions.
And we go three whole movies without a single main character biting the dust (that I can remember) and they finally get around to it--to show us that there are stakes involved--and they kill the only character that I liked.
I'd be perfectly happy to go the rest of my life and never see another movie or TV show where the only dynamic between a father and his daughter is that he doesn't want some guy to get all up in her vagina. Relationships can be much more complicated than that, people!
Also, the fact that they stress over and over again that Marky Mark's character has lived in Texas his whole life but he still sounds like a Dorchester High dropout who waits tables at the Cheesecake Factory at South Shore Plaza boggled my mind, but was the best thing about the whole movie.

I hope you people at least bought tickets for something else and then snuck into this. Otherwise you are no better than terrorists IMO.

A cool stepdad would have saved him from this travesty.

I haven't seen any of these flicks, and have zero interest in doing so, but I heard a scathing (and quite funny) review on the radio the other day. I was interested in my nephew's opinion when he saw it the other day and his comment was a resounding "Best movie ever!!!.
So there you have it - the stamp of approval from borderline retarded 12 year olds.
