They used to do a pretty good job of using the opener slot to promote their peers (Mudhoney, Sonic Youth), young bands who needed a boost (MMJ, S-K, Supergrass, Idlewild), and older bands who needed to be reintroduced to a younger audience (Buzzcocks, Ramones). It was cool of Eddie to do presets to get people in the building to watch the openers. Do they even have openers anymore?
There's a blurb in that Grunge is Dead book about how they've helped out Death Cab quite a bit. Not sure if that's the band side or organization side, but it's something.

Gaslight Anthem. Their lead singer, Brian Fallon, has stated on numerous occasions how influential PJ has been to him.
O.A.R. I don't remember where I read it, but when they were first getting big I remember one of the members of their band saying that a few of them learned how to play guitar by watching PJ's MTV Unplugged performance.

OAR is another good one. I also recall them referring to Pearl Jam as a major influence, or at least a favorite band of theirs.

I havent really enjoyed Kings Of Leon since 07 which is ten years ago now... wow.
but this new performance gives me the pj hail hail letterman 96 vibe. the clothes, the tiredness and the riff. Its like hail hail backwards, but not so good.
