A while back I bought Warcraft, The Legend of Tarzan, and Gods of Egypt. I'd be surprised if Suspiria influenced The Shining; it came out only three years earlier. And I don't think the films are all that similar stylistically. Suspiria is phantasmagoric, maximalist ecstasy.
