Yea, cameron
100%
it holds it back just that little bit before it explodes

Jorge wrote:The chorus to this song is my favorite part in an album I didn't like a whole lot, and it's down to three reasons: 1. the transition from the pre-chorus, which is startling because of the sudden modulation, 2. the cool dancey pattern Matt starts playing on the cymbals, and 3. Ed sounding like fucking Count von Count from Sesame Street in the chorus. Fun and unexpected ways to build tension and urgency. Really wish I heard more of this in the rest of the album.
I would like to hear more about your impressions of this album, whenever you have the time.

It's the best part, that half time with Eddie screaming Respooond.
I'd hold the half time a little bit more, tbh, but it's great nonetheless.

I took time to warm to this one because it's a bit quirky. Though I'm enjoying it now, the chorus is one of the weaker ones on this album. I'm glad they did one song like this, but also glad it's just one. I prefer Scared of Fear and Dark Matter as far as the harder rocking ones go, personally. Still really like the song, but it's never one I would consider putting on repeat, unlike a number of other songs on the record.

I'll write something at some point. I don't want to be a spoilsport right now when folks are feeling so celebratory about an album I personally don't dig

Yeah!
Also, i kinda feel the band would have cut the end in the past and now its just full on, they are jamming and its heavy. I love the ending so much.

The time has come to restore the balance!
But no, I understand - post your thoughts whenever you want.
I think the album is OK, insofar as it's another modern Pearl Jam album I will probably never listen to again when I already have No Code or Vs and so on. I'm glad they had fun making it, however.

The partial live version of this song during the Zane Lowe interview sounds really fantastic.
Jeff on the 12-string!

my cockatiel was wolf-whistling to Ed's delivery of "don't react! respond!"
he gets it

Yes it does. Hopefully Eddie can pull off the vocals.
Do we know all the songs Jeff is using the 12-string on, or is this the only one?
