I've walked out of a few movies, the most recent one being Space Dogs at a film festival which featured a 7-minute uninterrupted real-life scene of a group of street dogs mauling a cat to death

The most miserable moviewatching experience I've ever had is The Rebellion of Red Maria. But at least that was kind of interesting at parts. I think the most accurate response to this question would be something completely middle-of-the-road and mediocre. So yeah, like a Marvel movie. Captain Marvel was so fucking dull and characterless

The movie that sticks out in my head is called Stigmata, this utterly trash horror movie from the late 90s. It may loom larger in my head than it should (I may have seen worse films that don't come to mind), but when you're younger, for me at least, going to the movies was this special thing that wasn't a particularly common occurrence, so when I went I usually got something out of it (there's certainly movies that were bad that I enjoyed as a kid in the theater probably because I was buying into the experience). That was the first time I saw a movie in that environment, finished it and immediately realized it was dogshit.

You're old as fuck my guy.
It was 1993. I was probably high and angry from all the grunge music

This is generally my policy. I paid hard-earned money to see a full film. Why would I just up and leave I the middle of it?

I saw Stigmata. It was definitely disappointing.

Sunk cost fallacy.

You would leave because it sucks and you have better things to do.

Even if it sucks dont you at least want to know what happens our of pure simple curiosity?

Also, guys, be real. You all spend time posting on a pearl jam message board with a group of maybe 7 other bro's. You aren't that important with better things to do.

Not necessarily. Partly because of the rise of streaming, I'm generally only at a theater for a movie I really want to see in a theater, something I've looked forward to, where I trust the director, etc. But I also kind of treat going to the theater as an experience itself. This was especially the case when we lived in Vegas and it was like 116 in the summer--maybe the only movie playing is like Bad Moms, but the seats fully recline, the AC is pumping, the beer is overpriced. What more could you want?

I don't feel the best movie I've ever seen is a literally "bad" movie

for me it's one with the biggest discrepancy between the hype / expectation, and the reality as I experienced it

so like, The Shining or something

I almost made it through that last Star Wars movie - it was such a train wreck I couldn't turn away - but when Chewie got a medal I headed for the door.
