what if the baby has something wrong with it and will only live a short time?
Worth noting that the genetic testing to confirm trisomy 13 and 18--which are basically incompatible with life (the fetuses that make it to term tend to die extremely painful deaths within the first week)--is not done until, at the earliest, week 11.5, with a turnaround time of up to two weeks. That's if the CVS can be performed, which is not always possible given the location of the placenta. An amniocentesis cannot be performed until week 16 or so.

i asked b/c this happened to a friend of mine. she was heartbroken, but it was dangerous for her and it was already determined the child would only have days to live under incredibly terrible circumstances. having an abortion isn't some kind of celebratory thing. i'm legit wondering how someone who is pro-life would look at situation like this.

It would probably depends on whether someone thinks putting someone out of their misery is ever morally justified.

I think the Judeo-Christian-Islam would prohibit it, but most believers might be for it?

It's also worth noting that the Burt Reynolds account absolutely does not get pussy.

Every person should be implanted with a sterility chip at birth and only have it removed once they are at least 25 and can pass a mental and financial stability test.

I completely agree that creating a child should be an earned privilege, not a right.

The point is when people get abortions it's usually because they didn't intend to get pregnant in the first place. Nobody really wants to have to get an abortion. So this would solve that problem.

It's absolutely possible to square being pro-choice, pro-vax and pro-restricting who can have a kid if you're primarily interested in harm reduction.

Yes I believe that is the only logical primary concern.

If people are unable or unwilling to be decent parents, it's profoundly idiotic and unfair to the child and society to bring a child into it, which is a big reason I'm pro-choice. But it would be preferable to not have to have abortions to begin with.

People should have the freedom to do whatever they want, as long as they are not harming others. Irresponsibly bringing a child into society in all likelihood will harm many.
