Lena does come off as kind of oblivious, especially her writing about her travels to Japan and India, but not mean-spirited.
That racist rapist joke is pretty funny.

And she's 27 now.
She certainly isn't the voice of her or your generation. The opposite, in fact. And she'll be the first one to tell you.

I know nothing about Donald Glover outside of Girls. Some of the stuff in that post is clearly a young comedian trying make a name and be controversial. But I've never seen his comedy so I can't comment on how misguided it may or may not be. So much of these blog posts are out of context.
My original comment about Glover and the blogger's ignorance was a comment about his role on Girls and nothing more.

yeah. Sometimes i think those who point and moralize about something, specially in the internet, are just really bored.
But some issues can and should be really off putting. Rape is one of them i guess.

why is it that when someone such as a writer in Lena's case writes their experiences that people need to call them racist? It seems that she's only writing what she knows, which as a white 20 something with well-to-do parents, it shouldn't surprise anyone that her circles are mostly white.

yah, i don't know much about her, but from watching the shows she's not racist. people are just too sensitive. she is being "standup" like.

People are too sensitive. But don't say that in a diversity group.

Agreed.
But there seems to be something a bit more sinister in the many of the attacks against Lena Dunham. And I don't know if it's because she's being especially provocative or if it's because she's a young woman. I have a feeling it's the latter.

Its mainly because she is a young woman and a successful one.

Also, she isn't classically attractive. Which seems to piss people off for some reason.
