Watched Isle of Dogs last night and it was better than I thought it would be but still not that good. Watched Incredible Mr. Fox today because it's the better movie.

Yeah, saying they are “finally how they were meant to be” now when it’s been in circulation for fifty years and has never looked like this doesn’t make a lot of sense.

Irritated I didn't go to see 2001 when it came around earlier this summer. I would prob never notice the difference in the colors.

I just fell down a YouTube rabbit hole... I had no idea about the depths of these weird Stanely Kubrick was killed because of Eyes Wide Shut/MK-Ultra/Rothschilds/Pedophilia/Sex-Trafficing Hollywood insider stuff.

But it did make me want to watch Eyes Wide Shut again. What a glorious movie that is. It's been too long.

I wish they would just name Idris the new Bond already.

The song and dance that's been happen the last few years is kinda silly.

Idris seems about as British as they come.

Does he even drink anymore? His character has been so neutered over the years, I don't really care who plays him anymore.

That's basically my thought as well: he's no longer what he was and is - basically since the last one or two Brosnan films and certainly the Craig ones - a generic action hero. Sure he still has his toys but what film doesn't anymore? It's just a name at this point so why the hubbub otherwise?

To me, the central dichotomy that defines Bond as a character is the mixture of his suave, charming, charismatic personality with his completely cold-blooded, remorseless ability to kill, and I tend to judge how “good” a portrayal of Bond is by how well it captures that duality. It’s maybe the main reason why Dr. No is still the best Bond movie, IMO.

In other words, it has nothing to do with some dumb ideas about British imperialism. And it also means I think Elba would probably be the best Bond since Connery.
