Ah, but if you’ll recall, Abner had a lot of stuff NOT in the museum. He had a personal collection which Indy needed a piece from.

I was only made aware of it during my research in trying to find out if McP’s statement was true.

I'll only allow if you did your research in a museum.

I feel like this is the easiest ranking ever.
3 may be a better movie than 2...but nostalgia

1. Raiders
2. Temple of Doom
3. Lost Crusade
4. Crystal Skulls

I'd go with your ranking but I feel like any order of the original three is acceptable.

I have a visceral reaction to advertising and promotion. There's just something about salesmanship that grates on me on a very base level and I react very negatively towards it. I want those people to suffer and I want their enterprises to fail.

I’ve always felt Indiana was created through a combo of “Junior” wanting to impress his father, and a very independent childhood that nurtured his wilder tendencies (due to his father’s frequent absence).. The result was a hands on archeologist risk taker who used his fearlessness (with the exception of snakes) to get his hands on relics to impress his father. Basically daddy issues - like Henry Sr. probably giving the dog more attention than his son.

Having that dude as the template for Indiana kinda ruins it, and I wish he never appeared on screen.

I agree though I did really enjoy River Phoenix as Young Indy packing in how he got his scare, why he uses a whip, why he's afraid of snakes, why he wears a hat ect. was a bit much. They did similar things in the Han Solo prequel and with Spock on Star Trek: Discovery and Strange New Worlds. I think it ultimately diminishes the character. There's always a weird implication with these prequels that the reason our hero is the way they are is because some new character made them who they are. It builds up the new character at the expense of the old. It's bad writing.

At least they never did a spin-off series of that Indy template guy. Definitely would’ve happened if Last Crusade came out in the current era.

I think they killed the franchise. They might try to bring it back but it won't work. It's dead.
