Clarence Thomas will shuffle off this mortal coil before Ruth Bader Ginsburg.

Scalito will remain dead.

Hillary will die 10-plus years before Bill.

Any possible future that does not involve a completed and thorough investigation made public is likely also one in which we see coalitions of major cities and/or states withholding funding from the federal government. Places like California, where more money is sent out than is returned via federal aid.

I also deleted a portion of my post above saying that I don’t think we yet understand how significant the growing divide between the majority of the country and the citizen group represented by the Republicans currently in office is going to be. The Republican Party got a whole lot more Freedom Caucusy this week, and their audience is deep, deep red. As tension ramps up, they will bare more teeth...and events like we are describing will get exacerbated by that response.

I'm a bit surprised that, given all the other mass shootings, we haven't have a major political assassination attempt since Reagan got shot. Gabby Giffords is the only one I can think of, but I'm likely being moronic right now and forgetting someone.
