Is it downtuned? If that first chord is that basic E minor shape, but capoed on 4 with the low string downtuned to C#, that has that first chord being a G#m with an F bass note? Trying this now -- it sounds weird.

***Oh wait I think I see -- if you downtune to C# and capo on 4, your first and second chords becomes:

322000
042000

In the standard tuning it's:

022000
x42000

Basically the only difference it makes is the F bass note in the second chord is an octave lower with the downtuning -- more of that Neil Young rumble, but no harmonic difference.

This is one of my favorite PJ songs to play on guitar so I want to make sure I'm doing it right!

Yeah, there it is!

Man, I spent HOURS on that site in the early 2000's.

Sorry, I saw the text of this post but didn't see that there was a video included.

All good! I edited it after to include it.

Time to dust off the acoustic and break out the ol' capo!

I'm bookmarking the archived GTW site -- thanks Strat! Gonna go back and learn some songs I never learned...

All Or None is a stupendous high point on my least favourite album. For me, it's the only song on Riot Act that captures the weariness without causing weariness. Happy to see it advance here, even if I'm voting for Yellow Ledbetter, which still catharts like a very cathartic thing.

On an 11 or 12 song Riot Act I think I'd be a lot more into All or None

Can't Keep
Save You
Cropduster
Ghost
I Am Mine
Thumbing My Way
You Are
Get Right
1/2 Full
All or None

Still far from my favorite pearl jam album, but captures the important thematic arcs and while hardly a breezy listen, wouldn't feel quite so leaden by the end.

I still don't hear weariness anywhere on that record.

Yellow Ledbetter is another case of RM fatigue, it seems. It's best performance was a quarterfinal loss against Black in 2007, and its most recent notable result was a top 32 loss against Who You Are in 2012.

Swallowed Whole has never made the top 32.

All Or None has made 2 Top 16s, with the most recent being a 2019 loss against Even Flow in the live tournament.

The data would suggest that more and more current RMers agree
