I never watch Refn trailers, but I'm tempted.
It actually scared me.durdencommatyler wrote:Yeah, that trailer is unbelievable. That looks out. standing. Sexy. Haunting. Creepy. Gorgeous.
Great cast. Looks, on the surface, though I'm sure it's not really true, like an alien hybrid of Mulholland Drive and Black Swan. But, you know, bloodier.

I have a visceral reaction to advertising and promotion. There's just something about salesmanship that grates on me on a very base level and I react very negatively towards it. I want those people to suffer and I want their enterprises to fail.

I get this, and i like it too. It means the movie has some fucking edge. Its pushing people from their confort zone....i love him.LoathedVermin72 wrote:It got booed, like Only God Forgives. Me too. I think he's pretty untouchable when it comes to contemporary directors.VinylGuy wrote:I get this, and i like it too. It means the movie has some fucking edge. People say this about every movie he's ever made. I wouldn't worry about it if you've liked any of his other stuff.tragabigzanda wrote:I still think it looks amazing, but the one review I mentioned made it sound very stylized without any heart. I hope it's not like The Canyons of The Bling Ring or something. I can understand that criticism for Only God Forgives, maybe. But certainly not Drive. It's stylized but it has a ton of heart. Mostly thanks to the geniuses Gosling and Mulligan.LoathedVermin72 wrote:People say this about every movie he's ever made.
