Is this a real thing? Outside of people talking about watching movies during childhood, I have literally never heard anyone express this before.

That's basically my son right now. He is 'meh' about pretty much every movie we watch and only seems to find joy in watching ST:TNG episodes or Adam Ruins Everything. He's excited about seeing John Wick 3 this weekend though, so I guess that falls into the 10% of movies he gets.

Spoiler: show: Technically that's the kid's dad stuck in the body of Pikachu. He has amnesia though so doesn't know he's the dad and is wearing the dad's hat for...reasons? Later in the movie Mewtwo shows how it went down and how he basically 'hid' the dad in Pikachu to help save him from the bad guys. It's weird, doesn't make much sense outside of the movie, but that's about it.

The explanation was seriously the dumbest part of what was otherwise a pretty good movie.
