It's even sexier when you're there and you can smell the stench of waiting in 90+ degree heat.

The Cubs blog just tweeted that the doors open at 5:30, show starts at 7:30, and is scheduled to end by 11:30*.

That's four hours for the show, that ought to be a nice set...

Didn't they take the stage at about 8:00 in London? Wasn't that a scheduled 7:30 start?

Has Pearl Jam ever taken the stage EXACTLY when they were supposed to? I think 7:45 - 8 is a good bet; however, I'm also thinking there will be an Eddie solo "pre-set" ("All The Way" at least, unless that opens encore 1 or 2 as the "7th inning stretch").

Starting to cloud up a bit. I wish that front would hurry and move through.

Not if Ed pays attention to setlists like he says, because they played that @United Center '09.

I can't believe people wait in a 5 minute line let alone longer. I got tons of posters in 1998 and 2000 when nobody cared about them and haven't bought one since 2003.
I don't get the thing about the posters either. The only time I bought one in 1998 was for a friend and it wasn't a big deal - just went to the merch stand when I had a chance, walked right up and bought a shirt and poster without the crowd surge that happens these days.

There's GA on Stub Hub for $12,000 per ticket. At this point I want to put in $50,000 for my tickets and see if there are any takers...

I've been on an "anti-collecting things" lifestyle for a while and I never want to go back. Who needs a bunch of overpriced memorabilia sitting around the house? sell it and take a vacation.

I've definitely ramped it down. I only buy truly special concert t-shirts and posters now, not something from nearly every show I see like before. I buy almost nothing from sporting events except perhaps cheap food. On the other hand, one indulgence I made was buying complete sets of baseball cards from my youth and binders to put them in. Turns out nobody cares about complete sets anymore, especially from '88 - '93 when I was collecting. I was able to get everything, including stuff from Upper Deck and Fleer Ultra, for under $200.

Just checked the cam, and yup lots of girth on that corner.

The stream is now stuttering a bit too.

Merch lines are comical in this heat.
