who's the director for extras on a film? I've seen a film recently that I kept wondering "what exactly were they told this scene was about?" you have one guy literally wailing and gnashing teeth and other people running randomly through the scene. one scene had a person run in quickly from off screen, grab something someone else just laid down, and run off around some ships to just jog off into the background noise.

you'd just think that the director would see these things while shooting and say "wtf is there story? and why do we care?" and then shoot something else instead.

I did a scene as an extra for house of cards in like 2012 and it was one of the ADs who told us all what do to, combined with the props ppl who gave general instructions on what we should do with whatever prop they gave us. But it was a bar scene so the directions were for me to talk to a woman and pretend to drink a whisky (which sadly was just water and caramel coloring).

Also, it’s stupid that people thought more Die Hard was preferable to just ending McClain’s story in the original movie and letting everything else be “a different story where Bruce Willis plays another dumb tough guy.” None of the sequels gained anything by that expensive reference, and the character just got progressively sadder and more deserving of his jackoff isolation. But I guess it was the predecessor of the latter-stage Terminator and Star Wars franchises, in that regard.

Also the dark knight trilogy is so fucking good I can’t stand it.

I don't understand why James Cameron released that Avatar 2 concept art. First, it's just kind of a strange move (wouldn't you prefer your audience see a fully realized version of your vision via a trailer or the final film?). But also, they're awful. They look like Bad Dragon are launching oculus rift VR honeymoons
