ok. I would like to do that. I put it in my outlook calendar for when I'm more RM-engaged

The Brown Bunny is really amazing. Cinema needs Vincent Gallo back.

No. You probably wouldn't.
Go ahead, by all means, enlighten me.
Why? I don't see anything about the approach of an inventive minimalist who does not differentiate between fiction and reality, distance and intimacy, or abstraction and concrete storytelling that remotely overlaps with your aesthetic preference.

Now, if you think the merit of such a stylistic design can be argued, then by all means run rampant. If you think I believe the same, however, you are wrong.
I get all that out of his movies, but it seems rather superficial to me. What is the larger insight any of that is providing? What genuine profundity or depth is it offering? It's structurally interesting, but I don't think any of what I've seen from him has gone much deeper than that.
You remain the Russian literature of subtle thematic exploration, LV.
Say what you want about Russian literature, but Anton Chekov remains one of my all time favorite writers AND Anna Karenina is one of the greatest novels I've ever read. Also, I haven't seen one single frame (that I know of) by this Kaiboggepatch guy. But if Jorge's a fan, I guess he's alright.

I believe Dick Van Dyke plays the devil in Mary Poppins, and that he employs a lesser angel to help him in claiming a couple of neglected children's souls. No other summation fully explains the events in the story, as far as I'm concerned.

Last night a friend said she watched a horror movie that she really enjoyed. She said it was because she really cared about the characters. And I said that I don't think you can call it a horror film if you care about the characters or if it's character driven. It has to be classified as something else. It's a different genre at that point.

She couldn't remember the name exactly. Something about hikers. Maybe The Trail? Is that a movie? But she also said the same thing about Frozen (not Disney; death by ski lift).
