When I watch a movie and the son or daughter character looks nothing like either of the parent characters, it bugs me. I'm sort of ashamed of how much it bugs me because I know there are a million more important things to think about when assessing art. I know it's not a big deal. BUT IT BUGS ME

Of course it is, but physical resemblance between actors shouldn't be a huge deal compared to acting ability and other concerns

Yeah but the guy who plays my little brother can barely act; there's a hammy artifice to everything he does and he forgets lines often. You can tell they cast him based on looks only

I once watched Arrested Development with this German dude who could only talk about how little the family looked like each other. It ruined the show for him, it was really weird.
