Real Talk: I've never seen Friday the 13th (original or remake). I have seen Jason Takes Manhattan, though. And Freddy v Jason.

I'm not a big horror movie fan, though. Is it as good or better than the original A Nightmare on Elm Street?Strat wrote:durdencommatyler wrote:![]()

I think its better. Obviously its been awhile since ive seen it but there is a stronger reality to it which makes it a little more suspenseful for me.
If you aren't a horror movie guy though....Then continue on with Kung Fury instead
durdencommatyler wrote:I kinda liked the original Halloween, too. Come to think of it. And the original Texas Chainsaw Massacre is fucking terrifying! So, yeah, maybe I should see the original Friday. Maybe I like those old school 80's horror movies more than I realize.
Friday, you mean? It's quite gory. That's a Tom Savini joint, bro.Strat wrote:durdencommatyler wrote:I kinda liked the original Halloween, too. Come to think of it. If memory serves me, there isn't a bunch of gore in the original. can someone confirm or deny that for me? Kthanks

If you like beautiful, natural, filmic cinematography, it's a must.durdencommatyler wrote:Oh...LoathedVermin72 wrote:The original Friday the 13th is excellent. Much better than Elm Street.
I think 'cinematography' is the only word in that sentence that we define the same way.LoathedVermin72 wrote:If you like beautiful, natural, filmic cinematography, it's a must.durdencommatyler wrote:Oh...LoathedVermin72 wrote:The original Friday the 13th is excellent. Much better than Elm Street.
I don't think it's any less gory than the sequels (until you get to Jason Goes to Hell). You don't see the killer, but you sure see the kills.Strat wrote:LoathedVermin72 wrote:Friday, you mean? Well, compared to the subseqnt films, no? I just have a memory of it being more suspenseful because
