Hanna at the funeral and Hanna´s conversation with his dad are keepers. Also Ray and Marnie...

I don't love the show but I watch each week. It's the type of show that can be the best thing on tv in a given week or just kinda "meh". The last one was one season's better episodes with a great bait & switch with Hannah's moods at the end.
Looking forward to Elijah returning for the second half of this run; he's been one of my favorite characters so far. I know it's Girls but it's been the male characters (Adam, Ray) that I like best and feel have been the most developed.

Ray is great this season.

I've always loved Adam; he's what keeps me coming back, really. Ray is great too.

I love the fact that on a show called "Girls" it's the male characters that people seem to actually enjoy watching.

Wasn't always that way. Lena Dunham & co were widely criticized in the first season for being "unable to write men." And most people hated Adam. It really isn't until the very end of season one that we begin to understand it was all by design.

The other thing is, Lena isn't interested in writing the kind of women were used to seeing on television. They are flawed, selfish, and make terrible decisions. In other words, they're people. Not ideals. They have dimensions. Really, the only girl on the show that I have a hard time with is Marny. The others are wonderful characters, even in their most awful moments.

Adam has grown into a remarkable character and should serve as further evidence that Lena Dunham is a gifted writer and director. But I would still watch the show without him. And he's still a dick. And he still has issues. But we're used to seeing guys with issues and being encouraged to root for them.

Ray and Marnie? Really? I guess there is hope for us all.
