Well, compared to the subseqnt films, no? I just have a memory of it being more suspenseful because

- you never actually see Jason as we know him because its the mother....
I don't think it's any less gory than the sequels (until you get to Jason Goes to Hell). You don't see the killer, but you sure see the kills.

I'm going to re-watch that movie soon.
I'm a sucker for the early sequels as well. Anything before "...Manhattan" pretty much.

I laughed so hard watching Jason Takes Manhattan. It's one of the most ridiculous things I've ever seen. If I thought it was intentionally funny I'd rank it in my top 5 all-time comedies.

Meh. I found Jason Takes Manhattan really dull and overlong. Not nearly as fun and silly as it should have been.

The first half of the movie is fuckin A. then, there is really lousy acting and its very distracting.
