I feel like I've hardly watched any movies lately. It's weird. I don't like it.

It's funny, I recall my total downturn in movie viewing begin when I started working in a video store.

I haven't watched anything since I saw Pixels on Thursday. What if Pixels ruined my life?

A couple of tremendously successful films made it marketable/profitable for Hollywood to exploit the genre. As you've already mentioned there are plenty of artists that still make wonderful indie films and tell fresh/engaging stories with real characters.

I disagree that "americans" have lost their touch with regard to indie comedies. The market is saturated and the truly independent filmmakers aren't finding wide audiences. And when something unique does come out, many times it gets panned. So backers get gunshy. So what the vast majority of what you see in a theater near you is watered down. Those are more likely to sell, so they get distribution.

This genre is no different than any other.

To be fair, indie comedies have kind of been mired in shit since their inception. It's all Harold and Maude's fault.

Fucking an 80-year-old would probably help you relieve some of that tension, dude.

True.

But i feel its in this recent years that the studios are making their version of "indie" movies, with that formula in mind. And it seems the younger filmmakers got that and do the same... hell, even their plot are pretty much similar..

I guess I don't like the Marvel movies as much as I say I do. I completely forgot (and frankly still don't remember) Gary Shandling was in some of them. :?

Shame on him. I was on the twitter for a while last night, but only because @SkitchP was live tweeting The Strain episodes he was watching.

I haven't really been active on Twitter for a while. Thought I'd try to get back in the swing today. Leave it to Jorge to scare me away. I didn't even realize how much carefree fun I'd been having on RM since he left until today.
