God, I wish this was one of those times you misspelled "song" as "dong"stip wrote:It's a quality song. I just wish it felt bigger, though I understand why it doesnt

I thought that was clear in my previous poststip wrote:Would you say it is one of Pearl Jam's top 5 most overrated songs?
Overrated here (but it's not b/c the song is brilliant, FUCKING BRILLIANT), but to the casual fan, they don't even know what this song is.E.H. Ruddock wrote:fixered.darth_vedder wrote:This is one of PJ's 5bestmost overrated songs.
Well, in a way, with live versions stip gets the "bigger" sound b/c of Mike's ending solo.theplatypus wrote:God, I wish this was one of those times you misspelled "song" as "dong"stip wrote:It's a quality song. I just wish it felt bigger, though I understand why it doesnt
Check it out around the 3:37 mark till the end.stip wrote:I think I've only heard this live (on boots) a handful of times. They played it at my first show, but I don't remember anything about that particular performance. Is the ending solo well done, usually?
I mean, it's the point. That's one of the many things I love about it...I mean, it's "up here in my tree" (or as Ed now does "wup here in my tree"). Can't Keep is kinda similar in that regard, and is another song I find to be brilliant.stip wrote:that was a nice solo, but it's not that I thought the song was crying out for a solo. The whole song feels a little distant--like it's coming from somewhere high up and far away. It works thematically with the song. I just want it to come a bit closer.
