It's weird, as big a fan as I've been of the band...of any band I'm a big fan of...I've never had trouble remembering that they're just regular people who deal with all of the same dysfunctional family and friend bullshit that we all do. They just have awesome jobs.

These same people attend the funerals of those that have, at minimum, contributed greatly to these "awesome jobs."

All I'm saying is that it's entirely possible fans are viewing this situation from a warped perspective. Just because people have romanticized the grunge era in their own minds doesn't mean there is currently a deep bond between these musicians. I was listening to the Howard Stern interview Cornell did and was surprised to hear that the guy doesn't speak to his parents. Seems weird to split hairs over a guy he sang a duet with in 1991.

In that same interview he calls Ed one of his best friends though. Just saying...

I get that. But things can change. He seemed fine isolated in Paris for a bit too.

It's really creepy to even be talking about this, it's none of anyone's business other than those involved.

Talk is what we do.

Hopefully everyone in the band (and especially Cornell's family) will get through this difficult time. It's a loss that will be felt throughout their lives, but we all have to go through these most difficult times.

Well that would make for a pretty lame discussion board, if we all just did that.

Im not referring to talk about Chris Cornell, I'm referring to the wild speculation going on about some tweets from a woman no one knows and Eddie Vedder being a jerk for whatever they think hes a jerk for. It's really just serving as a way to incite more anger, resentment, misunderstanding, whatever. And doesnt have any more place in this thread than a bunch of dumb jokes, which at least were humorous at times. This here is just stupid

She is clearly the mother in law of Cornell, and she is vividly very publically angry. It would be weird if it wasn't mentioned on the most free speech Pearl Jam forum online. But I agree that we shouldn't judge Eddie or the band in their grief process. We all react differently.

Eddie Vedder and Chris Cornell, for basically all of us, are actors playing a role, and there is a way we want this story to go. But this has little to do with how they go about living very human lives.
