The first one had some great action scenes and the whole dog thing was cute. Then it became just thing never ending stuff of the same.
Yesterday we had the call of The Rise of Skywalker being better then any of the Indy films, and now this?

The John Wick films are great. The last one was probaly the worst of the bunch, but still fun

i never say that atrocity. Dont know who said that, but might be someone who is hurting and needs attention.

I like the John Wick franchise enough. Im looking forward to the 4t one but i dont think any of he sequels are better than the first one or have that freshness.

Posting this for Malloy (even though it isn't that great, tbh):

Then I'll post this for the rest of us (because actually it is that great, maybe the best closet video ever):

krieps appearance in the closet was disappointing. dug renate's picks, though.

I'm considering adding Mubi to the repertoire for 2023

It's worth it. Lots of great content, good variety

My bottom 5 movies of 2022

5. Falling for Christmas. People might ask "well what did you expect?" and fair enough, it is exactly what it looked like. There's not a single thing fun, charming, sweet, or endearing about it. No kitsch value either. No aspect of this is enjoyable in any way.
4. The Luckiest Girl Alive. Like a fan attempt at a trashy Bret Easton Ellis novel adaptation. Very bad
3. Bullet Train. The most arduous and exhausting "fun" movie I've ever watched. Poaches the early Guy Richie tone and aesthetic but fills it with the worst gags imaginable.
2. Clerks III. Nonsensical, excruciatingly unfunny, toxic at its core, and downright depressing when you break down its message. A sad, desperate film.
1. Thor: Love and Thunder. I've gone on about this one enough. One of the ugliest movies ever made, in every sense of the word.

Still have to watch a few more 2022 releases from my list before I can put together my top movies, hope to be done with it this week. I doubt any of them are bad enough to break into this list

agreed. if I ever have to make drastic cuts, cc and mubi will be the last two standing.

Nice. Bullet Train and Thor would also definitely make my bottom five (I walked out of Bullet Train, in fact). There were more than a few bummers this year, but the only other movie I feel strongly enough about to punish it with inclusion on a list like this would also be the movie I'd say is easily the worst of the bunch:

Amsterdam

The main thing stopping me is that there's already more than I can watch just on Criterion Channel. I signed up for another cinephile streamer, Metrograph, the online offshoot of the theatre in NYC, but I rarely even look at the thing. And there's a bunch of cool stuff on there

I understand what you mean, but the only criteria for my list was "the worst things I watched this year." Those two qualify, even if it was obvious that they were going to be bad.

Black Panther 2 was bad, but it was mostly just boring-bad, not offensive-bad.

Also left off the list was Blonde, which was also bad, but at least had a few things going for it.
