We'll see. I think when James Gunn and Warners announce the new DC slate there'll be some renewed interest there. They might even reclaim the title of dominant comic book universe.

There's also like 20 Marvel films already in development too, some of which have the potential to be very big. But I agree it feels like we're coming off of a peak

i think Endgame was the last huge event we can expect for a while.

Phase 4 was more focused on tv it seemed and i would think they only interesting movie that felt like another event was the last Spider Man...maybe in the US Black Phanta 2 had some cultural relevance not really sure.

But it will be very important to know what are those DC plans for the future. This year will be super weird for the brand, they have 3 big movies lined up which seem are obsolete by now and at the same time, something like The Flash with Michael Keaton playing Batman should be huge.

But "Michael Keaton playing Batman should be huge", again, we're roaming over trodden ground. It feels like we've done this before. Old stars come back to play their old characters with the new actors. No Way Home obviously, but also the CW superhero universe did something similar. It gets less exciting each time it happens.

If its handled in a good way, still could have a good effect. but yeah, i get what you mean.

I don't see comic book movies slowing their roll any time soon. There will always be a market for movies that parents can watch with their kids and not be left wanting to claw out their own eyeballs.

Then there's the Funko Pop! collecting man-child contingent. They're not going anywhere.

Yeah, they will just go from insane, guaranteed blockbusters to being just profitable in varying degrees.

Been thinking a lot lately about movies that affect me. Maybe this could be it’s own thread, but are there movies that just stick with you?

One example for me is Sunshine. The vastness of the universe and my Insignificance has always fascinated me. The imagery in that movie just stuck with me and i often find myself thinking about being that close to the Sun and just contemplating existence.

I reflexively read this as Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind and emphatically, to myself, said yes.

There are definitely other films that I have seen that resonate later or have come to be hearkened by everyday activity, Good Will Hunting, Leaving Las Vegas and Lost Highway are three that can catch me off guard at times.

George Miller did this on purpose, right? The beautiful young women in Fury Road are played by:

---Zoe Kravitz: daughter of Lenny Kravitz, pop star.
---Riley Keough: granddaughter of Elvis Presley, rock icon.
---Rosie Alice Huntington-Whiteley: great-great-granddaughter of Sir Herbert Huntington-Whiteley, 1st Baronet of Grimley.

The line reverses. She's destined to be the grandmother of iconic A.I. prompt synth musician Butler T. Yeats
