Losing the drive to keep up with every new thing sounds fine, relaxing even. It's less about new art, and more about specific makers of art (Hollywood or Disney+, etc.), which is increasingly incapable.
At a certain point giving them the benefit of the doubt is not the rational choice. It's the boomer choice. Just go watch some weird shit on YouTube or somewhere else. Or check back in a few years to see if they have taken their heads out of their asses yet.

I do feel that way with marvel and Star Wars crap, which is sad because I like the source material for both. Same with whatever post apocalyptic/zombie series is popular at any given time.
