I think it's become endemic to the whole industry. Obviously, there are exceptions, but it's getting harder.bart wrote:I do feel that way with marvel and Star Wars crap, which is sad because I like the source material for both. Same with whatever post apocalyptic/zombie series is popular at any given time.
Maybe it's your mindless consumerism and willingness to accept mediocrity that is lazy? Have you considered this possibility? Did that show up in your careful simulations?Ello Sailor wrote:That's pure laziness. Art is literally everywhere.

Maybe if you didn’t spend your time watching that crap, you would have gotten around to hearing sunny day real estate sometime before 2023Ello Sailor wrote:That's pure laziness. Art is literally everywhere.

Don't let me down. The Argonaut wrote:just keep checking A&E, Burt. I'll tell you what's good. I can't seem to stop myself from watching all the dumb stuff that maybe might be good but rarely is

I have a visceral reaction to advertising and promotion. There's just something about salesmanship that grates on me on a very base level and I react very negatively towards it. I want those people to suffer and I want their enterprises to fail.
You've got the wrong guy. I consume very little of it. I'm just not stupid enough to throw my hands up and claim that it's the only thing available.bart wrote:Maybe if you didn’t spend your time watching that crap, you would have gotten around to hearing sunny day real estate sometime before 2023Ello Sailor wrote:That's pure laziness. Maybe if you watched more, you would have some taste, and would be able to tell the difference between good shows and bad shows, or notice overarching trends in Hollywood entertainment? Or just continue talking out of your ass. Whatever works.Ello Sailor wrote:You've got the wrong guy. I consume very little of it. I'm excited to see it, though the trailer didn't really sell me on itEllo Sailor wrote:Argo liked Creed 3. I already know it's dogsh- MAN DOWN. THEY GOT ME
There's definitely something happening where the industry seems to be getting narrower. But 2022 was also my favorite year for movies in a long while, so it's hard to say.BurtReynolds wrote:It's less about new art, and more about specific makers of art (Hollywood or Disney+, etc.), which is increasingly incapable.
The guy claiming art is dead because Hollywood and Disney+ isn't to their taste thinks I need to consume more art.BurtReynolds wrote:Maybe if you watched more, you would have some taste, and would be able to tell the difference between good shows and bad shows, or notice overarching trends in Hollywood entertainment?
