well, its a feeling i had after watching that trailer.
Its not a question of being better or not.

Not really sure who the target audience for this is tbh. It seems to want to appeal to everyone, which means it probably will appeal to no one. I don't expect it to be very subversive or raunchy. Probably the same old tired "everyone can be a Barbie" bullshit that we've heard a thousand times.

This applies to movies and to TV.
One observation I'm sick of hearing, and that people seem to think they're hot shit for making, is "durr, you’re not supposed to relate to [X character]! They’re not a good person! You missed the point if you relate to them!"
It's like fuck man. If they were well written, of course I related to them. Characters should be compelling, and good writing makes us care for what happens to them and connect with their humanity regardless of their specific circumstances. Otherwise what’s the point.
