Has Diane Keaton ever played a character that was not foolish and annoying? Even Kay, in the Godfather movies. She begins as basically just a device, an innocent newcomer, a stand-in for the audience, by which this world can be introduced and explained. But she ends up the protagonist of the worst scene and the worst storyline in both movies "it was an abortion, Michael". yikes
Most of the time she's just annoying from the get-go. How did she catch on as a movie star?

Reds is literally the movie that inspired my post. I watched the first half of it this evening and she's very difficult to handle. Just a very poorly written character not helped at all by Diane Keaton's naturally annoying nature
