Thinking about Gummo again (thanks RM! 
) and I think there's an obvious link between that and Beau is Afraid. Both are petulant films made my directors in a bod mood who want to piss all over the people watching it. They're both super mean spirited. I wonder if all of the movies I hate with a burning passion have that quality...

Whiplash is my go-to here. To me, that movie has always been about the tremendous power of hate.
